Archives for category: I was there!

We had great fun in last Kerry Bike Festival…The festival was launched last October(!) with a short film bicycle-related screening. Lots of different cycles and activities followed it, including a storytelling session delivered by P and myself. We promoted road safety and amused the children with an imaginary trip to Killarney and other stories. Have a look at some of the selected bike short films (below) as well as at this great invention placed on Tralee streets during the festival time: The pedal praxinoscope! Visit the artist website here.

Cape Clear Storytelling 2012

This was our second year going to the festival. It was a fantastic experience altogether. Meeting lovely people, cooking, listening to stories and songs, doing the workshop with Ed Stivender (who gave us two peacock feathers), having organic goat ice cream in a full moon night, daily swimming in the cold ocean, blackberries… and this time I told a couple of stories in the story swaps and sang a Catalan traditional song… exciting!

Last week I snicked out to join a clown workshop in The Why Not Institute with Angela de Castro. Here is a picture I draw about this intensive week which was full of discoveries. Thank you all.

Gracies a tots.

Have a look at this picture taken in the Tralee Circus Festival last November. It was so exciting to pose behind the canvas and get my vintage silhouette portrait! Have a look this great idea looking up FelixPowerART in facebook.

M’ho vaig passar molt be posant darrera la pantalla amb diferents vestuaris i objectes. Per saber-ne mes busqueu FelixPowerArt al Facebook.

We have been at Cape Clear Storytelling Festival. For three days our lives were filled with stories and songs in an amazingly beautiful location. In the picture dozens of shoes are drying in front of the hostel’s fireplace after coming back from one of the venues in the heavy rain. As soon as we got back we put on a “wamilin coo cavie”, which is a “boilig kettle” in the Cant language. It was one of the featured storytellers of this festival’s edition who taught us these words and told us to keep them as a treasure. Sheila Steward is a member of the Travellers community in Scotland and the last one in a line of people who could still speak the Cant language. She made me get goosebumps with her ballads and stories, some of them as old as eight centuries.

I facepainted in the streets of the Rose of Tralee! In the four days the festival lasted I painted plenty of Spidermen, butterflies and roses! Have a look my special design for the festival!
